Who is Jo?
Hello lovely
I’m Jo Draper - Creative Mentor, Digital Designer, and cheerleader for every VA and self-led creative who’s ever said, “I know I can do this… I need to figure out where to start.”
With over 30+ years across corporate, creative, and small business spaces, I’ve carved out my own version of success - one built on clarity, cheeky Canva files, and a deep refusal to follow the online business rulebook.
I’m the creator of The DOTTED Path, a playful yet practical framework that makes systems feel human, design feel doable, and self-leadership something you can enjoy.
The plot twist
The truth is, this version of me wasn’t in the original plan.
In 2016, I was diagnosed with DCIS and spent five years under careful watch. By 2021, I thought I was done with hospitals - instead, I found myself beginning treatment for a full breast cancer diagnosis.
I navigated surgery, recovery, and the kind of identity shift you can’t brand your way through.
I came out the other side with no boobs, a lot more perspective, and a creative fire that refused to be dimmed.
(Also a very real appreciation for elasticated waistbands and sleeves without stitching to crush my arms.)
Dotty by Design
That experience reshaped everything.
I don’t do hustle.
I don’t do pressure.
I do purpose.
I do it dot by dot, day by day.
Now, I work with VAs and creatives who want a business that works beautifully, reflects who they are, and leaves space for being human.
Whether you’re here for templates, tools, or the courage to hit publish on that half-finished idea finally - I’ve got you.
No instant results here - but you’ll get clarity, a plan, and the confidence to do it your Pretty Way (tea breaks encouraged).
I’m Dotty by Design, fuelled by Twinings flavoured teas, sparkly notebooks, and a big refusal to follow the rulebook. I won’t promise instant results, but I will give you clarity, a plan, and the confidence to do it your way.
What I believe
Have fun and follow the dots → If it makes you laugh, sparks joy, and pays you well (in that order), it’s a well-designed business.
Learning should stick (and giggle) → Simple + joyful = sustainable. Giggles are a strategy.
Tech isn’t scary - it’s a sidekick → Tools are here to help, not stress you out.
There’s room for everyone at the table → Competition is boring. Collaboration is better.
Kindness and integrity always → Curveballs will come. How we treat people matters most.
No boobs. Big ideas. Always dots.
That’s me.
A designer who breaks the rules, a mentor who believes in clarity over confusion, and a human who knows business should feel good.
Let’s connect the dots together.
